A photo/video production release form is required for any person that has a speaking role or appears in the video, as well as anyone that has been involved in the production of the video. These releases must accompany the online video entry form. All photo/video production release forms must be signed by the participants. If the participant is under 18, a parent/guardian must sign the form.
Original video content created and produced by the student is required. Any video containing unauthorized content will be disqualified. No copyrighted material (music, images, etc) or trademarks (company names, logos, brands, etc) may be used unless the student contestant has a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted or trademark materials. Examples of copyrighted or trademark images include displaying a logo on a computer, names of search engines or online companies, movie posters in the back of a room, logos on clothing or hats (even in the background) or music that students did not create themselves. All names and logos associated with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Generation TX movement, Generation TX Week, or the Take the Challenge! are permitted for video contestants to use as part of the Take the Challenge! video contest.
Video content must not promote illegal behavior, defame or misrepresent any individual, likeness or company, and must not discriminate against or support prejudice of any kind along ethnic, racial, religious or sexual grounds. The video must not invade the privacy of any person, be politically motivated, or endorse any elective officer or legislator. The video must not contain any false, deceptive, or garbled content. The video must not infringe on the copyright, trademark, or intellectual property of any person or entity.
By submitting the video and the online video entry form, you are agreeing to grant the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and its Generation TX movement the right to use, reproduce, reprint, distribute, and display the video contestant’s name, picture, personal information, and video for any organizational or commercial purpose, without notification, consent or compensation to the entrant. This includes, but is not limited to, displaying name and video content on the THECB website, the GenTX.org website, on THECB or GenTX social media pages, at THCB Board meeting, at conferences, other venues, regardless of whether fees are charged.
Entrant also agrees to submit all photo/video production release forms required for participants. All entries become the property of the THECB and Generation TX and may be used in whole or in part at its discretion. Entrants agree not to publish their videos independently on the Internet without permission from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. By submitting the video, the entrant represents and warrants that all submitted material is original and the entrant has the right to transfer all rights in the material to THECB. The entrant represents and warrants that the submitted material does not infringe upon any right of any person, firm, or entity. The entrant represents and warrants that no person or entity other than the entrant has any right, title, interest or arrangement to the video. THECB and its agents may require proof as to the accuracy or verification of materials submitted by entrants.
By entering, contestants thereby release and hold harmless the State of Texas, THECB, its officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or any prize won.
THECB and its agents are not responsible for late or incomplete entries, or any technical errors or difficulties occurred in submission of materials.
THECB and its agents reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if entire prize or a portion of the prize is unavailable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Prizes are not transferable. Any federal, state, and local taxes, if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winning contestant.
THECB and its agents, in their sole discretion, can disqualify from this contest, any person, organization or other entity who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the contest or who is otherwise found to be ineligible. THECB and its agents have the right to cancel, terminate, suspend or modify the contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) is sponsoring this contest (“Contest”) as part of its Generation Texas® (Gen TX®) public awareness campaign. THECB has contracted with Del Mar College as its vendor to administer and manage this and other GenTX® Week contests as part of the campaign.
