"Word of the day: VERDANT Green with vegetation; covered with green growth. “Drab in winter, then suddenly sodden with alpine runoff, the region turns dazzlingly verdant in spring. “"

What is your career or vocation?

Writer. I help make the web awesome.

How has your education impacted your career and your life?

College taught me to ask better questions, and thus discover better answers.

From where you are now, what do you believe about the role of education, especially college?

Having a degree is important. It's difficult to get a good job with just a high school education. But I don't think it's important to go to a "brand name" school. Education is what you make of it.

What advice do you have for the students of Generation TX?

Find a school you're happy with, that has the subjects that interest you, and that won't bankrupt you. College does not have to send you into a debt-spiral to be effective. Study hard, make the most of the experience. And you'll be fine.

Why do you believe in Generation TX?

I've seen first hand how important it is to have someone believe in you. I believe in these students because as a mom, that's my job: believe in them. Support them. Pave the way for them to do great things. Because they can. They will.

What are your goals as a GenTX supporter?

To start conversations. To engage students. To ask them who they're becoming and where they're going. To listen, respond, and applaud.
