Steps To Pay

  • Start the FAFSA process. Begin filling out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.gov.

  • Submit your FAFSA. Complete and submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 (ideally, after your tax information has been imported by the IRS). The sooner you submit the FAFSA, the better your chances are for getting a good financial aid package.

  • Ask about fee waivers. Ask your school’s financial aid office if there are any scholarships or fee waivers for nontraditional students.

  • Consider costs. Determine the cost of the program you are entering. If you plan on working while in school, consider whether you want to enroll in school part-time or full-time and how enrollment will affect your financial aid.
